The face of international hockey has changed.

Finland are the new kings. They have beaten Canada at their own game.

The Koivu-Selanne-Aki nucleus has been unstoppable thus far at the Olympics.

The medal rounds will be like taking candy from a baby.

    Go Finland. :hockey:
    Go Aki. :hockey:

If this team is as confident as you, the US will definetly eliminate Finland. I already see it happening. :shakehead

In all seriousness, quite possibly the best poster here, if you like a little humor with your hockey talk. Great stuff.

    AGREE!!

Every team that comes flying out of the pliminary round loses!

    look at Sweden vs. Belerus.

As good as Finland is playing and as much as they deserve it and as much as it hurst me to say this

    US 3 FINLAND 2

shouldn't you at least wait to see what happens in the meaningful games - when a team can actually get eliminated with a loss, before your crown a new king??

Last time I checked the defending Olympic champs is Team Canada... the defending world Cup champs is also Team Canada...

so until they are eliminated from this tournament, they are still King! Finland, right now, is more like a bunch of uprising serfs that are plotting to take the crown away... but until the medal rounds are done, they're still nothing more than serfs looking to overtake the King!

But you all know that that's your last celebration before falling to the US in the quaters ... its always like this. Its a fifty fifty lottery which of the two surprising underdogs will fail in the knock out round .. I say its the Finns!

US has been a tough nut to crack for Finland in previous international tournaments...

And with guys like Modano who know how to completly wreck undersized butterfly goalies... I am pretty sure that the finnish team are ready to fight for the win.

Aki also single-handedly saved a busload of Italian school children that took a wrong turn and was going out-of-control down a ski jump.
