Dave was smart enough to suggest Perlini, but not smart enough to figure out how to use him effectively.

He rarely used Gagner properly either. Tippett has big issues with players that have defensive difficulties. But you still have to figure out how to use players that are at least capable of offensive gifts. Most coaches at least on home ice will throw a guy like a Perlini out after a pk, with other stars. Theres no reason not to do some shifts packing Perlini with Drai or McD or maybe both. The guy has too much scoring potential to be parked like he has been. Which is especially strange given our limited roster depth.

The sad thing is that only the necessity of limited numbers due to so many players being out is granting this current usage.
