In my effort to placate seventieslord's last-minute concerns over time zone differences (I truly was dumbheaded in overlooking it with the 7am eastern original time poll option), I have criticized a newbie for following the rules as it was originally set out. Gawd I suck today. A half bottle of Jagermeister is my only excuse (it's 9:30 pm Sunday here in East Asia where this Canuck works).

I feel like a heel.

A reatread for me, but he's one of the best scoring LW's left and provides more then enough speed to work the first line with Cole.

Rebels select Leo Reise Sr., the rushing defenseman who has been described as spectacular and a star on the Americans toward the end of a career that bridged eras in hockey. After the NHA ended and through the beginnings of the NHL and rival WCHL/WHL years of the 1920's, Leo Reise was an impact player in the hockey world. He was 24 years old in 1917 when he joined the Hamilton Tigers of the OHA senior amateur league and became a goal scorer. He was a 2nd team all-star his first year, scored two goals in a playoff game against a Toronto team featuring Babe Dye en route to winning the Allan Cup his second year, was a 1st team all-star his third year and 2nd team all-star again his fourth year. Then Hamilton joined the NHL and he immediately had a career year finishing second in NHL assists in 1921-22 while continuing to score goals, finishing the season a point shy of a point per game, playing with Prodger and Malone. The following season Malone was gone, Reise was 30 years old and his assists dropped down from second in the NHL to third on the last-place team. He was 4th and 6th in NHL points among defensemen those two seasons. Reise wanted to leave the basement dwelling club and play in the west where he made more money for Saskatoon of the WCHL. He was 10th and 9th in points among defensemen and in the third year the team was in the WHL and he finished 6th in points among defensemen. The next season he went back to the NHL and was 5th in NHL points among defensmen. His second year back in the NHL he was fourth in team goals but the 35 year old would no longer put up significant assists or total points. He would go on to play two more full seasons, making the NHL playoffs for the first time as an over-the-hill veteran with the Americans in 1929 and Rangers in 1930, pointless in both postseasons, leaving the NHL thereafter at age 37 after seven full NHL seasons over the course of his career. He would play two more years of pro hockey in the IHL, described no longer as a speedy playmaker but, as "...this big powerful, broad-shouldered stalwart... is the dogged, steady plugger type".

Hopefully ted1971 reconsiders here, the guy seemed like an eager GM, maybe a veteran GM like chaosrevolver who was looking for a co-gm could step in and help out. Also this demons guy who was also a new GM, he hasn't made a pick yet, has anyone heard from him?

In any event with our Day 3 pick the Knights are proud to select a guy I as a gm thought about picking in the MLD, that is right winger Rick Kehoe.

The 6 time 30 goal scorer will look good as the right winger on the Knights first line next to the playmaker, Alexei Zhamnov.

Yeah, he's excellent. I had him top-5 heading into this.

I was legitimately wondering whether Kessel would pass a guy like Pominville this year. It wasn't even close.

Played the point on the power play

Chouinard finally got his chance to play in the NHL on a full-time basis in 1976-77, playing 80 games and scoring 17 goals and 50 points. He improved to 28 goals and 58 points the next year but it was the 1978-79 season when he had the year of his life, scoring 50 goals and 57 assists for 107 points. That excellent year was followed by a pair of 31-goal seasons, the second of which came in Calgary, after the club had re-located there for the 1980-81 season.

Chouinard remained with the Flames through the 1982-83 season, but despite being only 26, his best years were already behind him. In 80 games that year, he did scored 72 points but just 13 goals. He finished his NHL career a year later, playing with the St. Louis Blues. After returning for the first nine games of the 1984-85 season in the IHL with Peoria, Chouinard opted to hang up the skates, his heart no longer in the competitive game.

He's more established as well. 6 seasons with 59+ points as opposed to 4 for Kessel (lockout prorated for each). But Kessel's two best seasons are now better than his... soon to be 3. and, you could say Kessel's 55 point, team leading effort was more impressive than Pominville's 68 point season when he was 4th on the team, far out of 2nd.

if you run out of room for them on scoring lines in the MLD, then certainly you go to Pominville next if you want a bit of an all-arounder on the 3rd or 4th. I think next year Kessel makes it as a MLD 2nd liner.

There are so many offensive specialists still out there... some of them have 700+ games, and multiple 35+ point seasons. And weren't as bad defensively.

I like Tärnströms peak and I think his defensive lapses has been greatly exaggerated over the years. Not that he was good defensively. He was better when he didn't play for crap teams that relied on him for offense only.

Meh, I'm still not feeling it. What are you calling his peak? When he played 24 minutes for the teams that earned the right to draft Malkin and Crosby? Or the 84 games he played for (relatively poor) playoff teams, averaging 17 minutes a game? These mediocre teams even cut his minutes drastically in his 17 playoff games, down to 12 per game.

Yeah, these are fun, you just have to get used to them. Use that list I sent you for reference and any of the GM's here i'm sure will be willing to do what they can to help you adjust.

As to the playoff format, I think we should see the # of teams first. 1 GM hasn't picked a player yet and we are 3 days in so let's see what he does before deciding on a playoff format.
