Is this what will happen in Hockey East in March, too? Just curious.
The pacing seems terrible - wasting everyone's time with a whole intermission after only 5 minutes of play? Honestly, I'd be more forgiving of having this end in a shootout - they're college kids, not NHL potential millionaires. They have lives outside of hockey. (Yes, NHLers do, too - but not a whole other "job" like college, even if the credits are pared back). Do a 5-minute OT with a horn, scrape the ice, and take a 90 second TV timeout. Then play a 15 minute 2OT, followed by 20 minute OTs. No need for full Olympia action after only 5 minutes of play - although I guess with the rotten Garden ice...
