In a perfect world, that would be UPL next year, though I don't want to rush him either. A vet who can compete with him, but be sent down if UPL wins the job to split starts with Ullmark, is ideal, and if that's Johansson then great, though I have my doubts.

Sabres need to start making young guys earn their spots. Mittelstadt is a perfect example of moving a guy into the NHL years before he was ready. UPL imo is still 2-3 years away if he is going to be an NHL regular. Try to re-sign Ullmark for at least 2-3 years and bring in another capable goalie on his level. We need two NHL calibur goalies next season that are fighting each other for starts. Let UPL prove it for a couple of years in Rochester.
