This is in response to all the people I see saying stuff like "why should it be the players responsibility to fix the owners/managers mistakes".
While team payroll ultimately is the owners/managers fault, think about this: The GMs job is to ice a competitive team, a team that could win the cup. They are pressured from the owners and the fans to do this, plus its actually their JOB. You can't, as hard as you try, fault all of the GMs for doing their jobs, and all of the owners for gambling on making the playoffs (where the teams make their big money). You are always going to have your bone-head owners/managers that spend way too much on player x who doesn't deserve it, but the ONLY reason they did so was to win (or, in some rare cases, they are having an affair with the player).
