Yep
I said previously I'd be willing to reassess how I feel about him if he actually has grown as a person. But he has a long ass way to go for that.
Yep. I've aired my feelings on him as a player in previous threads. This is his chance to show that he can grow up and harness his intensity to improve his play and his standing around the league.

I'll trust Rod and a strong leadership group can help him. And if they can't we thankfully can trust that 1m for 1year isn't hard at all to bury in the cap.

I personally want to hear from TDA. I want to hear his verbal commitment to the public, that he’s going to be dedicated to being a better person on & off the ice. He’s got to be able to acknowledge that he’s screwed up and that he’d like an opportunity to redeem himself.

Until he does something like that, I’m not going to be happy. I’m believer in second, maybe even third chances, but you’ve got to really show you mean it and that you’ve changed.

I already don't like the way this is driving a wedge into the fanbase.

It's not great, but in fairness, Chick-fil-A giving away free sandwiches after wins drove a wedge into the fanbase. We have a very reactionary, very online fanbase, and him signing here was always going to be worse than in a lot of other places.

Thank you for the note @DaveG. As a guest I just want to say that I’m really hoping this relatively young man can finally get his head right.

Perhaps Jordan & Jacob have the strength in their leadership influence to dissuade ADA from bringing his BS to the dressing room. Please let it be so. I’d also like to think that Coach Rod will command more respect than Mr. Quinn.

If there’s a Team & Fan Base which can facilitate a player to rebuild their career, I cannot think of many better than here.

I don't like it, but if there's anyone who can get him to clean up his act, it's Rod. But I don't like dumping that on him, though he did recently say that he didn't have to do too much this year, and that shifting the culture in the 1st year was the hard part. Maybe Dundon and co thought he needed a new challenge. :sarcasm:

Did it? Totally serious when I say, I don't remember that at all.

It was a big hullabaloo for at least the first week of the first season it started. Many similar comments, narrative threads on Twitter as we've seen in the last 24 hours. "How can you really mean hockey is for everyone if you associate with CFA" etc.

This is about a player and will make for a wider, longer news cycle, but it will still be temporary. Either nothing happens, TDA plays fine, and fans begrudgingly keep doing their thing, or something happens, the FO kicks TDA out, fans that were mad get an "I told you so" moment, and everyone moves on.

If he's truly grown up, he could be a good signing. I'm not a fan of his, nor am I a fan of his views, or this signing.

That said, I have my doubts that he's grown up. Is he even in hockey shape and going to come to camp ready to play? He hasn't played a game in six months. I hope management has thought of this stuff.

If he plays well and gets flowery articles written about his change in behavior, the majority of the fanbase will rally around him.

Fine. He's good at stickpuck, and he's cheap, and because of his long running anger issues and the team's obsession with value it's unlikely this is anything more than a 1 year stopgap. So fine. Whatever.

What I don't want is for the team personnel and media wing to take part in the Tony D Rehabilitation Tour Part 5. f*** that. I know he won't, but I'd love for DW to flat out say that TDA is here to play hockey, and if he so much as toes the line he's getting shipped to Chicago.

how can I put this without creating something......The CEO / Owner gives money to an organization that doesn't support certain lifestyles.
Wait what, the Canes organization is sponsoring them?

No wonder we can't afford to pay players.

No idea
Their drive thru is fast, the employees are squeaky clean and nice, the food is stellar, and the service is great. They also have a great college program.

maybe the 5th time's the charm.

they better not be paying "i'm confident we can get a deal done" lip service to having this moron on a short leash.
