Proposal: Tavares for Giordano

I made this proposal in the playoffs thread.

Tavares for Giordano.

This team makes both clubs better.

Flames get a true #1 elite center, big upgrade on Monahan. Then they could either move Monahan to the second line and trade Backlund or trade Monahan. Tavares would also get more opportunity to put up points since he won't be shadowed by Matthews.

Leafs have to win now and getting Giordano instantly makes their blueline that much better. Former Norris winter Gio would stabilize it and Gio is one of the most fit players in the NHL, I see at least 4-5 years of primetime hockey from him before he really starts to decline. I could see an "A" being put on him right away and he would be a huge leader in the locker room.

Why does Tavares do this? I doubt he cares about his point total at this point in his career. He wants to play in Toronto.
