Sweden hasnt had much success in the WJCH since the mid 90s but times are maybe changing as soon as this season. Last night Sweden won over Czech Republic with 3-2 and two of the goals where scored by Tampa prospects.

Johannes Salmonsson who has been struggling in thw WHL all season long had one goal and one assist. Is he back on track? Defenseman Oscar Hedman scored the game winning goal and he was also +3 in the game. Alexander Edler, also a defenseman is the third and last Tampa Bay prospect on the Swedish roster.

The next games for Sweden is against Latvia and Slovakia. Two wins in those games and Finland will most likely be the opponent in the quarterfinals.

GM Martin Sedin who is in Vancouver, BC to follow the games said that he was very happy of the way the three Tampa players played last night against Czech. He also continued and said that Hedman has the best +/- in the tournament so far. I am also very happy that Salle(Read Salmonsson) has finally started to produce, to tel you the thruth we almost had lost hope in him.
