Tampa Bay managment today announced that the team is looking to cut down salaries for the season 08/09. In this economy we cant afford to pay almost 50M$ in salaries to a team that will struggle to even get into the playoffs owner Martin Sedin said earlier today.

Defenseman Niclas Havelid who earns 2.5 over the next three years is the first on the list. The list also includes goalie Jose Theodore with 4.7 over the next four years, possible one of the worst free agent signings in HFNHL history. Vyacheslav Kozlov who earns 3.250.00 over the next two years and is currently in Tampas third line is also a player that the team look to move befor the season starts.

Vyacheslav Kozlov has been traded. Tampa Bay will hold a pressconference within the next 24 hours to confirm the deal. Niclas Havelid is still on the block however.

Peter Forsberg, Cory Sarich and Niclas Havelid are the latest Tampa players who have been put up on the trading block list.

Maxim Afinogenov, Joe Corvo and Ruslan Fedotenko might be moved after the all-star break.

Tampa is looking for younger and cheaper players. Could also consider draft picks and prospects.

Other rumours indicate Peter Forsberg might have been seen at the St. Louis airport, quickly driving off in what is believed to be Daniel Alfredsson's Audi.

Its time to say goodbye?

Peter Forsberg might have played his last game as a Tampa Bay player this evening and what a way to leave Florida if thats the case. With just 35 seconds left of the game away against the Thrasers the game was still tied at 2 when Peter found Bryan Berard in the slot, Berard made a beautiful move and Tampa left Georgia with all three points.

Forsberg played 22 minutes and had one shoot on goal in what many believe was his last evening as a Tampa Bayer. Forsberg joined Tampa last year in a multiteam deal that sent Marian Hossa away from Tampa. Hossa who has 27 points in 36 games with Colorado while Peter has 38 points in 37 games for Tampa Bay Lightning.

Rumours also mention that Sedin has been in talk with other gms about Sarich, Havelid and Afienogov.

Two guys who will never play in the NHL again take down the lowly Thrashers who have redefined the definition of crap, hehe.

Maybe if Forsberg can trade one of his eyes for one of Berard's feet, there could still be hope for both of them. :)

Oh, and I second the Audi R8 being pure sweetness.
