Next up those d pairs which have sucked since before the Shattenkirk trade. Sure 2-9 is good but the other two pairs suck big time. There's gotta be a way to get those pairings optimized and if not swap someone for Schmidt-y. He's got so many options with this roster it's disgusting. Find the right mix Trotz. This team needs to find it's optimal ... pronto.

Hopefully since we're getting ready to slip into a first round matchup with the Pens or Cbus, the team can start waking the **** up and start fully applying themselves -- coaches and players included ...

I can see the benefits to finishing 2nd or 3rd and facing Pittsburgh. Either they lose and save us all some time, or they win and show that they might be different this year after all.

That being said, for the love of God, please don't finish 2nd or 3rd.

Careful what you wish for, we might see 2-9 broken up because Orpik and Alzner are never coming out.
