Provided STL did their due diligence on Varna’s progress (which I’m sure they did given the money for this player), very worthy gamble on their part.

Doug Armstrong & Stevie Y have a tight relationship with all their Team Canada and other work. See Husso trade last summer as a recent example.

This is why GMs build good relationships with each other. We sent Detroit Fabbri, Walman, and Sunny to give them a good opportunity, and now the favor is returned by Detroit putting Vrana in a good spot. Vrana will have an opportunity on the ice, and whatever his off ice stuff was, we just had Monty who was a massive success on and off the ice.

It's more about the player than the return, always respect that.

Love this move for STL. If healthy (both physically and mentally) you potentially have a 30 goal scorer for next year.

Potentially being the key word.
