Seeing Carter & Richards lift the Cup again warmed my heart this time around, trolling the Flyers.

And to an extent Williams.

And just think there are a few people who actually think the Flyers are better off with the collection of Simmonds, Schenn, Voracek. LOL

They are better off.

Voracek is better than Carter.

Say what?:amazed:

You trolling or really think that?

You're telling me that the Flyers would be worse off if they had kept Carter and Richards? NOT A CHANCE

Proof in the pudding the last 3 seasons, w/o Carter & Richards the Kings still don't have a Cup.
Schenn/Simmonds would not have gotten it done.

Voracek is a good one, but, Philly is absolutely worse off (thankfully) by dealing their two former star forwards.

Carter and Richards are pretty average players (~50 PTS) with really long contracts. The trade makes sense for the LAK and help netted them two cups.

I rather have Voracek & Simmonds than Carter & Richards. Voracek is a stud and will be a 70+ PTS player. Simmonds put up 60 PTS this year and looks to be a player you love to have and hate to play against. Both are like 25 years old.

They are winners, guys that get it done in the clutch.
Just looking at stats is not a sound/complete evaluation of a hockey player.

Unless you are talking about drafting players for fantasy.

And because of Carter and Richards too, can't remove them and assume.

Kings were CLEAR winners in both trades.

You know the LAK made the trade with Columbus right?

LAK got Richards for Schenn and Wayne Simmonds. I rather have Simmonds over Richards right now.

PHI traded Carter for #8 pick, Voracek, and 3rd round pick. I rather have Voracek now.

LAK traded Jack Johnson and a 1st for Carter.

Clear winners? They won the cup they certainly don't regret the trades, but PHI is better off making the trades. No doubt about that IMO.

I'm sure every GM would take Schenn+Simmonds over Richards right now. Voracek+Couturier is a hellva return for Carter too(they traded him to Columbus not to the Kings). It's not like the Flyers would have won the cup if they still had Richards+Carter, so I have a hard time seeing it as bad trades for them. Not that the Kings regret it one bit but I think the Flyers made good trades.

Yes of course, 2 steals by the Kings.

Jeff Carter is a huge reason my Kings team has two Cups right now. The Guy has given Sutter options with lineup, and taken pressure off Kopitar.

Jeff Carter is a tremendous Hockey player, way better than Voracek. I would say Carter has meant more to the Kings than Richards.

Just look at these stat's, That 70's Line - 26GP/21G/30A/51P/+21 Carter's line was ridiculous.

It's quite obvious to me that Jeff Carter is a tremendous hockey player that Philly sure misses dearly.

I'm not a stats guy but just looking at Carter's playoff stats is further validation.
Guys like Carter and Richards know how to win hockey games.

I'd take both of them any day of the week over a total package of Schenn, Couterier, Simmonds and Voracek.

Why does Carter and Richards only have 2 cups? Why couldn't didn't they win when they were with PHI?

Carter 1st cup had 13 PTS in 20 GP. Richards 15 PTS in 20 GP. Not really earth shattering.

Personally I rather have Voracek and Simmonds.

That's fine and the Philly brass agree with you-but Dean Lombardi and 2 Cups are on my side.

Not like Voracek lit the world on fire with his 4 points vs the Rags either.
He's a fine player, but no where near the class of Jeff Carter.

Schenn and Couturier had a combined no goals and 3 assists vs Rags.
Simmonds is a fine player, we could use someone like him here in NJ with some sandpaper around the net with good hands.

I don't understand what you are saying.

I still think LAK wins the two cups with Voracek, Simmons, Couturier, and Schenn instead of Carter+Richards.

I thought Kopitar ran out of gas in the finals or something, not the greatest series he's ever had imo

Yeah. Looked like he was really laboring there.

Jarret Stoll had sent a tweet saying that the Kings were basically out of gas by the end of this game as well....

Pic got cut off at the bottom.

Looks like NO BING instead of RING.

When it comes to the Richards/Carter trades, it is Couturier who makes me pause before ridiculing the Flyers. And it was just absurd luck that teams stupidly passed on him. But they got him anyway.

Ultimately everyone in the trade has proven to be high end complementary players. Save for Schenn, who I think is painfully mediocre.

Although I think the praise for Carter is a little revisionist history. With LA, he elevated his level of play in all three zones and made the trade(s) regrettable. But at the time, very few thought trading Carter was a massive mistake. It was expected for a long time anyway. Trading Richards was seen as the questionable move.
