Hi Guys!!

Looks like St John's will get a new pro hockey team. It looks like the Leafs will sign an ECHL affiliation with a local group that includes Glenn Stanford who was involved with the Jets/IceCaps team. I think the team will be successful as the team will be locally owned and there isn't the same pressure to have the ECHl team close to the NHL team like there is in the AHL.

The article above suggests that former Moose/IceCaps player Jason Jaffray might be the coach.

That's awesome dude. I hope this works out for you guys. Having a locally owned ECHL team would take a lot of the pressure off of sustaining a market for a larger team that's affiliated with the NHL.
