All prospects who fit the HF prospect criteria are included.

ELIGIBILITY
-In his Age-24 season with fewer than 65 NHL games for a skater (or 45 games for a goalie).

-If signed out of Europe or the NCAA at age 22 or older, fewer than 65 (skaters) or 45 (goalies) games within three years of signing.

RULES
Each poll runs 24 hours and is public. Vote for your choice and nominate a prospect from the list below to replace that player on the subsequent poll.

If there is a tie in the Top 10, there will be a run-off and the losing prospect will be returned to the pool for the next vote. Outside the Top 10, the tie will hold, the two highest Adds will be added and we'll move on.

PROSPECT RANKINGS
In the past, we've also done skater-only and goalie-only threads, as well as aggregate-type of rankings. If someone is interested, they are welcome to inherit that responsibility.

all these Nylander votes are bizarre... apparently BEING a 1st round pick counts more than your play the last 2 years... his Talent/Ceiling can remain high, but his Development is lower after another year of limited/stalled progression. His Floor is lower, as he's shown nothing to assure us he'll even make the NHL in an effective/impactful way. And therefor, his Projection should have dropped from previous years relative to his Development/Floor falling.

Nylander. I still think his ceiling is much higher than Asplund. Asplund is a “safer” pick and more likely to be an NHL regular. Nylander has always had that more boom/bust label.

I have Nylander and Antipin tied here at 7.325. Nylander is there because I still think he has elite potential (though the expectation and floor category have been dropping) and Antipin because he's such a finished product that he breaks my weighting system (e.g. 10/10 in NHL ready, high floor because he's already proven he's an NHL D).

My top-6 is identical to yours but even with him at 6 I kinda feel like it's rating Nylander too highly. I'd be find with committing him to the edges of memory until he shows any kind of consistent production in NA.

He remains high overall on my list (#6) because his Talent/Ceiling remains high, and we weight Talent/Ceiling higher than the other dimensions.... However his Development, Floor, and Projection have all dropped

I guess it comes down to expectation. I have him at a 9 for ceiling (all star level winger), 4 for floor (good minor leaguer), 7 for expectation (second line winger), and 7.5 for development (AHL for almost, but not quite an entire, year before I expect him to be NHL ready). That works out to a tie with Antipin for third. I imagine your qualms with that would be too high of an expectation and too high for development. If i took away a point at each spot, he'd fall to 7th on my list.

I went Ullmark. He has the 2nd highest ceiling remaining behind Nylander, but his floor is so much higher than Alex's.

Ullmark
Nylander
Asplund

Add Nelson

Ullmark.

At this point, it seems pretty likely that he will get a chance as an NHL starter, and may well wind up being this team's starter going forward.

That likelihood puts him ahead of anyone else on the list for me.

You're right. I have Nylander at a 4.0 out of 5 for Talent/Ceiling (Non all star level 1st line). I have him at a 2.5 for Development (Stalled). Going from .43 to .48 pts per game is not the development level we should see from a 1st round/1st line talent from year 1 to 2.

Likewise, his floor has dropped to a 2.0 (Upper AHL/NHL Depth/Back to Europe level).... and I think that's generous.

And as of today, I have him at a 2.5 projection (Low Level NHLer).

The good thing with these polls is we can constantly adjust... and there's no reason Nylander can't lift those rankings with a good 3rd year.
