We spoke with Brian McFarlane (Hockey Hall of Fame 1995) about his recently released memoir, A Helluva Life in Hockey.
He became familiar to fans as a broadcaster with CBS, NBC and Hockey Night in Canada on CBC. McFarlane is also an astute businessman, popularizing Peter Puck, the famous cartoon character to which he later bought the marketing rights.
These days he fills his time by painting, but he took the time to provide insight on various topics, many that are covered in the book, including long standing feuds with Harold Ballard, Bobby Hull and Eddie Shack.
