I'm confused with the cap situation on the Leafs. How does Capgeek list today's AAV at $3.8M with only Fraser and Mclaren on LTIR and Bodie, Ashton, and Devane counted on roster before the Abbott recall.

"Devane $575k (his base salary) plus Abbott at $650k = $1.225m. Fraser's hit $1.275m."


Nothing complicated here, they just took advantage of the extra cap space and called up an additional forward.

I'm really high on Abbott's ability... and i put myself on the line to say so any number of times back at the draft. So i'm glad to see he's risen as far up in the organisations books. He may not be Marty St. Louis, but he should be fun to watch.

I seriously doubt Abbott is playing. Seems like they just called him up for an extra forward. Probably also rewarding the guy with an opportunity to get an NHL paycheck or two given there's a bit of cap space that has opened up due to Fraser's injury.

They already had 13 forwards up. So if Kule was just unavailable for practice they still would have had 12 forwards.

He could easily be played on the 2nd. line, but Carlyle needed him on the 3rd. line in a shutdown role.

We do not have Depth down the middle with Colborne traded. Only 4 Cs. So if one of the Cs gets injured we are kinda screwed. So I wouldn't be surprised if Kuli is traded for a "C".

That said, I do not want Kuli traded. I love that player. You need players like Kuli - read role player - to make deep playoff run and potentially lift the cup.

Very Odd.....he could be on the move as cap space is required so we can have 23 players.

Kulemin is a very under appreciated player, however is a very tradeable asset as well. Calling up Abbott makes no sense at all.....we need to save the cap room.
