Dumping a contract is fine, but do it for picks at least. Not for a pending UFA career AHLer which gets you nothing.
You're assuming DW could have gotten a pick back, I'd say you assume wrong.

Freddie was one of Worcester's top players, sad to say he never got a real chance in the San Jose organization. Hope for the best on the new team.
The only thing that they can get out of this deal is having Karl Stollery play in the post season with Worcester after this season they will just let Karl leave and they could have just released Freddie if he wasn't in their plans because other than a playoff run this season with Wor there is no need to make this deal.
Stollery to wear #37 for the WorSharks...last worn here by Adam Burish
He will erase whatever shame Burish brought to that honorable number.
When did Burish leave? Did he retire? I thought he was still plugging away down there?
He was loaned to the Chicago Wolves in exchange for John McCarthy. And everyone in Worcester was gleeful at the news.
Did anyone notice that they pretty much have gotten rid of all of Couture's friends?
Demers, Sheppard, Burish. Maybe he's the one DW wants to trade.

When was Burish ever a friend of Couture's?
