Stuff from last game:
John Hynes on Pavel Zacha's recent play:
“He’s competing,†Devils coach John Hynes said of Zacha’s recent play. “When you watch the game, you see his skating. He has a lot more puck touches so you notice him more. He’s a lot harder on the puck to get it back in the offensive zone. When he gets the opportunity to shoot the puck, he does it. It’s maturity. He’s just a lot harder of a player than he was earlier in the year.â€
“Early in the year, he didn’t look confident,†Hynes said. “He wasn’t using his shot. He was tentative offensively. We wanted to use him on the penalty kill to give him more of an opportunity to play and play on special teams. Now he’s getting more touches. He’s better five on five. You see he feels a lot better on the power play.â€
John Hynes on the bye week:
“It’s a great question but I think, this time of the year, the more rest you can have the better,†Hynes said. “We played well going into the break. We know we’re coming back with a real good stretch at home. This group is excited they have an opportunity to compete when they come back. It’s a favorable schedule. We need to take advantage. I don’t think the rest is a bad thing.â€
Cory Schneider on Sabres lone goal:
“It’s not a good goal at all,†Schneider said. “I’m usually pretty good on my posts like that. I was looking for a late guy he might hit with a pass. Once I lean that way and he snaps it, I know I’m in trouble. I kind of got caught in an awkward spot. It’s completely my fault for not staying on him. It’s not a great spot to give it up. My teammates played a heck of a game. I tried to keep it at one after that. When you win, you tend to forget about those pretty easily.â€
Please, for the love of god, WIN!!!!!!!!!!!
PLAY. ****ING. HARDER.
