Why #47 wasn't retired?

They want to keep the #47 around for players to wear to let the talent rub off on them. That and Sestito wears a XXXL jersey, which is also Despres' size, so they were able to save some money.

But, again, why do we need to get Simon up? He's adjusting to the NA game, he's had injury issues, and he's an active component of WB/S's success. Let him develop like a normal player, for christsake.

Pretty much. Couple all this with the fact that he's been rather mediocre over the past month/month and a half and I really have zero issue with the Penguins keeping him down in WBS. I've had the feeling from the start that they wanted him to get a full year in WBS before they even considered bringing him up. Let him adjust to the North American game fully.

I mean...I guarantee you I hate Sestito more than anyone else here, but I have less issue with that idiot up with a ton of division games in a short span over giving 5 minutes of ice time to a prospect in his first year in North America who still has plenty of things to work on.

My gripe is that I'd rather go with 7 defensemen than either of them.
