Bobrovsky is currently a top-5 goalie in the league who is having a very hot month. In December he is 7-0-0 with a .950 save percentage and 1.62 GAA. Meanwhile he is facing usually over 35 shots per game. The CBJ have bad 5-on-5 stats and a negative goal differential, yet have won 7 in a row (thanks mostly to their goaltending).

A lot more goes into the Vezina and Hart though than just a great month or two. Just as the CBJ aren't yet back in the playoff race, Bob isn't yet in the races for those awards. Keep it up for an extended period of time, though, and he/they would be.

I don't think CBJ makes it, Bob's numbers are not sustainable and their 5on5 play is not all that good, I think CBJ will cool off very soon, the point gap is just too big

can he carry a garbage team all year into a playoff spot and win a round or two? because thats what it takes to win a hart as a goalie. also columbus is not a garbage team.

he will be in the vezina talks for sure if he keeps it up.

Exactly. Once Letestu, Anisimov and Hartnell are back it will force a lot of our depth players out of the top 9 and back into their actual roles, which has been a huge problem for the team this season.

Letestu is HIGHLY underrated around the league and is a big part of our success last season. I'd argue he's more important than Anisimov.

Oh boy, he's been the best cop in town since his return from an injury.

Now, he's got 7 wins in a row and he only allowed more than 2 goals twice (with one game being the 52 save victory over Panthers).

He's back to league's top 10 in terms of SV% and that's behind an injury weakened defense.

And speaking of the Hart race...Without Bob, Columbus is 1-7-1 and 12-8-1 with him.

As of right now not even in the consideration .Being tied 10th in sv% and 26th in GA doesn't get you a sniff at either.Back in the Hunt.:shakehead

Career SV%

Regular Season

Bob - 0.919
Varly - 0.916

Playoffs
Bob - 0.890
Varly - 0.915

Settle down. One is hot right now and one has been battling injuries all season.

Who did Bob play with in the playoffs? Varly also played with that crazy Capitals team. Bob's a way better goalie. You'd be crazy not to have him on your team over Varly.

He's having a great month, can't say anything about Vezina/Hart at this time though.

I'm not going to argue about who is better, but during this streak, Bob has been amazing. The Jackets have gone 8-0-1 and in those games, they have been outshot by 12 shots per game, on average 35-23 and Bob has been the best player every night.
