Hello guys, you seem to enjoy Tarasenko's game and its an awesome thing to hear but what's up with his goalscoring? Only 3G so far (ofc while being responsible defensively etc). Just a bit unlucky or its a system thing or he's just done as a very good (elite in prime) goalscorer?

.500 is not the same with the 3 point game era
Of course it is.

Points percentage doesn’t change the way records are calculated based on the number of points possible, and points accumulated.

when the max number of points a team can acquire in a game is 2, nothing changes that calculation…..

prior to the advent of the loser point for overtime/shoot out loss the NHL used to use “Winning Percentage” but since the loser point came into the equation, the NHL switched to “Points percentage” to accurately rank the teams on the basis of their records, at any point during the season.

Hopefully Gus doesn't stand on his head in front of the home crowd

11am start?! That’s wild.
Actually feeling good about this one. Clean it up a bit today and get those 2 points for the ride home.

.500 in Points % is very different than .500 in winning %.

I like using pts % when looking at the standings as it inherently provides a partial predictor of future results.

94 points is a .573 % so to be on pace for the playoffs we need to get there.

That’s kinda how I like to see it.

A 5-5-6 record is technically .500, Points-wise it’s better than being 5-11-0, but you’re still losing far more than you’re winning.

If the team can pick up 9 points over their next 6 games they would be on pace for the 94 points that is playoffs.
