As we have been doing since 2004, we are going to use the HF criterias for prospect eligibility (less than 65 NHL games and under 25 y/o).

Remember to vote based on all factors and not just NHL readiness. Overall skillset, hockey IQ, upside potential vs floor, age, stats, skating ability, shot quality, leadership qualities, size/strength, etc

Personally, I always ask myself, who would I draft BPA among these players?

Try to do some research on these kids, particularly the most recent ones. People are free to post links and videos about some of the prospects that should be voted soon, or even try to persuade others why a guy should be voted next! Spread info to help people vote.

Graduated players from 2022 (who are still in the organization) :

Jake Sanderson, Shane Pinto, Mark Kastelic and Parker Kelly

To be added :

Filip Nordberg
Kevin Mandolese
Tomas Hamara
Hoyt Stanley
Matthew Andonovski
Owen Beckner
Vladimir Nikitin
Nicholas VanTassell
Nikolas Matinpalo
Oliver Johansson
Cole Reinhardt
Cameron O'Neill
Kevin Reidler
Tyson Dyck
Theo Wallberg

I honestly don't see a lot of space between Merrilainin, JBD, Jarventie, Sebrango, Guénette, and Boucher, Crookshank, Sokolov, ect.

JBD is probably the most likely to play NHL games, the other guys probably have varying degrees of higher upside and lower likelyhood.

We have a lot of good B tier prospects, so we should get a few players,

Tiers from now on IMO :

- Jarventie, JBD

- Pettersson, Halliday, Thomson, Donovan, Merilainen

- Sokolov, Boucher, Crookshank, Guenette, Sebrango

We still have plenty of decent prospects but lack in the higher tiers. Not really exciting after the Top-8

I'll take a flyer on Jarventie.

People are kind of forgetting that he had a pretty good 20YR old development year in Belleville. Had almost identical numbers to Greig.

He's got the tools, talent and IQ to be a top 6 forward, just needs to mature and start playing harder consistently.

Will it ever happen? Who knows, but I like his upside here more than anyone else.

I voted JBD because he is the closest to becoming an NHL player and has the one-way contract now. I am not confident about the others based o0n their development up to now.

Thomson, Jarventie and Merilainen seem to be the next two in my limited opinion. Hard to choose between the three. Am leaning towards Thomson .

I think JBD ends up playing with Sanderson full time in a yr or two, they could end up being be a pretty good tandem.

I know it’s pretty much the antithesis of his game but man could JBD ever use a few splash plays in the preseason.

Feel Jarvebntie is a PP specialist without enough game to keep him in an NHL lineup consistently. Like Patrick Laine - a sleepy player without much jam - but without the NHL finish 5 on 5 so he can be effective for 82 games.

Boucher & Pettersson are the two most projectable guys for me. Voted Boucher because everyone else hates him.

Still not sure I see JBD as more than a 250-400 game 6/7D. Just not sure what he does well enough that his coaches will see him as an everyday player. He could easily prove to be a regular, I just don't know what type of role he would fill.
Haven't followed Sebrango closely enough since he went to the A to have much comment on him.
Jarventie... lots to improve on if he wants to be an NHLer. Highest upside for sure, though.
Sokolov, Crookshank, Halliday, Donovan, Guenette... don't see much upside nor likelihood as long-term NHLers. Donovan and Crookshank are probably the two I'm highest on in that group. Halliday seems intriguing but I've never actually seen him play.
Merilainen... goalies are voodoo to me.

I am interested to see how Daoust does this coming season, too.

I think Merilainen ends up in the ECHL to start the season & Sogaard & Mandolese start in Belleville. They also signed Mark Sinclair a 27 yr old goalie to a two way contract. I expect that Sogaard & Mandolese could end up in Belleville & the other two with the Allen Americans if they are still a Sens affiliate.

Throwing some love  at JBD. He's put in the work. He's right there at the precipice .. has the toil and the success he's had in the AHL been enough?

FWIW, I voted for JBD. I did mention FWIW on purpose as I don't see a lot of these guys play.

Its definitely possible he goes the ECHL route and gets a ton of games in him. I wouldn't hate it either if they went Merilainen/Soogard in the AHL and have both guys push eachother for the first call up opportunity. Thats true internal competition.

Boucher has the tools to be an impact NHL player. If he gets there, who knows. Injuries have really hampered him. Will be interesting to see how he looks playing in the AHL this season.
