I am posting this in the hope that some people here might be willing to help a young kid from Orangeville who is battling a disability and whose parents are trying to raise the money required to take him to St. Louis for an operation that could go a very long way towards improving his quality of life.
Logan is ten years old and suffers from Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy which has left him significantly disabled. Logan's biggest hope is to be able to walk, an activity that most of the rest of us take for granted.
There is a surgery, known as a Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy, that has proven 100% successful in alleviating the symptoms of Logan's condition but the specialist who performs that surgery works out of the Children's Hospital of St. Louis which means that, in order for Logan to have this surgery, his parents need to come up with $100,000 to cover the costs of the surgery, travel and accommodation, post-operative therapy, assistive devices, etc.
The local music community in Brampton is supporting Logan and his parents by staging a fundraising concert this coming Saturday. All proceeds from that show will go towards Logan's medical bills but the family will still be a long way short of the $100,000 that is required to provide Logan with an improved quality of life. In order to further their fundraising efforts his parents have set up a gofundme page at which people can donate and help Logan.
Since this is such a great community I am posting this info here in the hope that some people from this forum might find it in their hearts to donate to such a worthy cause. Although money might be tight for many, no donation is too small – every dollar will help to aid Logan in his dream of being able to walk.

Time and Place: 7pm on Saturday, January 24th 2015 at the Spot 1 Bar & Grill (289 Rutherford Rd. South) in Brampton.
Tickets: $15 each and are available at the door or from Long & McQuade Brampton (370 Main St. North in the Kingspoint Plaza).
Bands: the following bands will be performing - Jesse Alarcon, Downturns, Stockholm Siesta, New Design, Olde, Secret Broadcast, and The Red Boy.
