Ummm, I didn't expect this. Poor Gagner. Europe would be great for him. NLA?

But yes, that's great news regarding Ghost! :) He's here to stay!

Didn't think he was too bad for the NHL but he doesn't fit Hakstols system which requires grinding and hard nosed play. Not like he didn't give his best effort though, he had a fight or two and threw some weight around. I'll remember his time with us fondly

Did anyone in the Philly media predict this, or were they too busy running Ghost-might-get-sent-down stories for clicks?

poor Sam. Was really hoping he would work out and be a key pp2 guy and scoring winger...

I don't even think it's cutting losses. He wasn't particularly awful, but never gained any favor.

He could still be traded if Hextall wants to trade dollars with someone.

If he gets recalled and claimed are we on the hook for anything?

Building a lower level NHL team down there in the AHL.

Hopefully a team depserate for offense takes a chance and claims him. Clearing 2.25 more will help our cap significantly for the remainder of the year.

I think it's about a 50/50 that he gets claimed. He can still help teams struggling to put together a decent PP2 and could be an asset in 3 on 3 and shootouts.

He didn't get much of a chance to shine here with the early season line-juggling by Hakstol and the subsequent injury.

Gagner could be really great addition in Lehigh Valley. That's for sure.

Could be good for guys like Cousins and Leier to have Gagner on the squad.

Can't wait for the dumbass articles about how Gagner was a failed acquisition, even though the reality is we were forced to take him back in order to get Pronger's cap off the books.

I liked having Sam in the line up as an extra scoring + shootout threat...but honestly I would be kinda happy if he gets claimed because having 3 mil in cap space would be huge.

No more of this cap crunching BS. Hexy can make the moves he needs to.

It's possible someone would want him for less than his cap hit. It does happen. You only save $900K by him going to the minors, so putting him on waivers and hoping someone claims him is more worth it, but less likely than trading for someone else someone wants to get rid of as well, maybe retaining salary.
