BRATISLAVA – The 2016 IIHF World Championship will take place in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia. Denmark and Ukraine withdrew their bids and they will apply to host the world tourney later.

Russia made a deal with Denmark. They would retract their bid for 2016 and in return Russia would support's Denmark's bid for the following year.

Hopefully you're right. It's nice that smaller hockey countries get to host the WHC too. Waiting for Hungary to also host, maybe it will happen someday?
