They’re the greatest team at having objectively hideous quarterback play at any given time and figuring out how to win a game 17-13if they went 10-7 starting two shitty QBs last season, they're going to be pretty damn good with russ there
Look at how Tomlin has enabled people like AB and others over his tenure. This is THE perfect fit for DangeRuss and his entourage,The Russell Wilson entourage will now have their own offices.
He has 9 Pro Bowls, it’s not really a question. This is his legacy
3 straight years of average to garbage play.
I don’t think he is a hall-of-fame QB
But his reputation has taken a massive beating.
He needs an amazing season which is doubt he’ll even come close to providing
pickett's best year doesn't even beat wilson's worst year. if someone with a gun to your head asked you who's going to start more games barring injury you're still going to say pickett? This is a move to help Russ's save face and and keep his reputation before he retires and before Pittsburgh drafts their next target next year.
This is assuming Russ can beat Pickett in a competition.
I would like to infer that as wise owners, the Steelers have accurately appraised their roster is completely mediocre at best and that Russ isn't going to make them the dominant in a ferociously competitive division, with rivals that have a lot more going for them than Pittsburgh. They also had Mike Vick for his last year. Russ is around that same age.
Russ's risk-benefit results in a doesn't matter if Pittsburgh wins or loses. He's just not good enough to win it all.
