Rumor has it that the Los Angeles Kings are ready to re-build after five years at the top of the standings have yeilded little playoffs success. This year the team finds itself on the outside of the playoff race looking in, which several key pieces still needed to put a run at the cup together.

It looks as though players such as Todd Bertuzzi, Rob Blake, Brian Leetch, John Leclair, Steve Rucchin and others will be put on the block in exchange for young players and prospects.

The Bertuzzi bidding war should be an interesting one to follow ;)

If I had more money to work with I might have been able to look at acquiring Bertuzzi, but such is life! Good luck to all those involved!

Keep in mind that both Leetch and Blake were signed as pending UFA's, and as such, carry a financial penalty of 100% of the player's salary to be paid if they are traded before the all-star break.

Bertuzzi has been traded. Next up may be RW Glen Murray, who is an 82 OV with 2 years left on a contract that pays him a reasonable 2.9m per season.

The Kings are looking for top prospects\youth.

Well on the upside at least Bertuzzi is going to the Eastern conference ;)
