Look i try not to throw things out like "they just wasted this pick" unless it's really egregious. Like, taking a projected 6th/7th in round 1/2, that's wasting a pick. And it's hard to complain about a 7th rounder, but when a guy's UPSIDE appears to be "fringe AHLer" then... why even use any pick on that?

Apparently he has plus skating and for someone that size, that undeveloped, and that unknown it really pumped him up. Plus, his dad is the Senators AGM so that could help. His shot, although powerful, is quite atrocious. His defense is just to stop the player by getting them off the puck. I wouldn’t call him overly physical or even a physical Dman, but he knows how to use his size.

He's a big guy at 18 who can skate or at least isn't an anchor that sounds like a perfect 7th-round pick.
