The ATO is pretty common for college kids and then they sign the ELC in the offseason. Unless something has changed the ATO means the kid is done in college.

As noted, he's a longshot to be an NHL regular, but he skates well and is big and mean. There is always a need for a guy who has those attributes, huge size, as long as he has hands and hockey sense. We'll see. Shot blocker, so Seeler 2.0?

Freshman Hunter McDonald, Northeastern leader in blocked shots, takes a painful path to the Beanpot final

His Northeastern team won the Beanpot last week over BU, with Celebrini, Hutson, Kaplan etc.
He tipped Kaplan's goal into the net, after almost doing it earlier. Then he lost Hutson on his goal. He got an assist on the OT GWG for a puck that bounced off his skate.

Boston U. vs Northeastern DI Men's Ice Hockey Game Summary - February 12th, 2024 | NCAA.com
#5 in red.

The Risto comparisons the team are making are sad. As if we need another one of those, and also Risto was a top 10 pick that the Flyers paid thru the nose to acquire. Let this kid just find his way as a pro without any of that baggage.

He can never be Risto good past red-line.

That is the likely best case scenario... tbh it is a pretty flawless comparison if I dont say so myself aha. They are close to the same player aha. (though ofc McDonald has some way to get to Benoit level)

Kid better bring the culture otherwise they will just resign seeler when his contract is over.

Who am I kidding they've already got another extension for seeler ready and waiting

He literally got hurt his very first shift on the ice (recovered) so he is already on his way to being a Flyer......

From the article, and all you need to know about their decision making process:

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound native of Fairport, N.Y., led the Huskies in PIM and ranked second in blocked shots (52).”

Never go Full-Flahr.
Which is why we will never, ever be good again. The rest of the NHL has turned the page on this type of hockey but we remain stedfast. To go along with sucking we will boring as hell.
