Walter was a good player for the Habs, but I think the Habs expected more when they got him, hence the high price they paid. They were expecting an elite power forward for the 1st line who could score 40+ goals and play tough physical hockey. They got the tough physical part, but the offense never materialized. Became more like a less fighting Shane Corson, rather than Gary Roberts as a comparison. Green replaced Engblom nicely once he got healthy. Internally, Carbonneau replaced replaced Jarvis almost immediately.
Interesting that Poile turned Engblom into Larry Murphy. Another feather in his cap.
