Ahh well, can't win them all. Would have helped if this team had actual skill, but they don't. Just a bunch of ok players working hard. Hopefully that's enough to make the playoffs.

They had great chances and couldn't finish any of them, or screwed them up.
Laval could have easily won this game 4-2, but just not enough.

Yup. They look good at times and then you see them and you swear they've never made a solid pass in their lives.
Hard workers but no skill. We've seen this story for the last 30+ years now.

The stupid move is not getting defensive help after all of Struble/Xhekaj/Keeper became unavailable via call-up or injuries.

Hard disagree. It would be so disrespectful to keep a player who has shown he should be on the NHL team in the AHL because it's better for the team while lesser players are in the NHL.
Being in the NHL is not only all of these guys' goal but also a much better paycheque. If you want to keep people hungry, you have to treat them fairly.

I think he was called up more to give him the all star break off. Barron was sent down because he was in a rut.
It's looking like a poor decision as Laval are back to looking like they're not gonna make the playoffs. They really didn't have the wiggle room to take anyone away. Especially since Xhekaj ended up healthy scratched anyways.
They easily could have waited until after the break to call him up. Or even after the game tonight since Laval has five days off now, play Saturday Sunday, then five more days off.

He's been scratched and benched in the NHL. It wouldn't hurt his development one bit to finish the season in the A and get better defensively. It would be mutually beneficial.
