Earl was invited to the U.S. evaluation camp in August, but was not named to the WJC team. He is currently a freshman at Wisconsin.

Mike Eaves, the coach of Team USA is also the coach of the Wisconsin Badgers, so I'm sure Robbie Earl wasn't selected for a reason, but he's a 1985 birth year, so you will most likely see him in North Dakota next year.

....then that must explain why Jake Dowell and Jeff Likens, who both also play at Wisconsin were non-returning selections, right?

For the last couple spots, Eaves mentioned in the Madison papers they were looking for players that were very good in their own end and Robbie doesn't fit that bill yet as he's more of a Top 2 line type guy and just was too much talent for him to make one of those spots. Where as Dowell isn't as talented but is great both ways and on draws.
