Quite a sign of the times that Ranger beat writer Rick Carpiniello was laid off by Gannett. Of all the local beat writers he connected and interacted the most with the fans. And his post game bullet point "thoughts" were a must read. There are so many blogs etc now but losing his voice is a real loss for the faithful. Hope he finds a new gig soon.
