How do you kno if the players back then were "so" horrible when you jus saw some ORR highlight reels. If you watched GAMES from back in the Orr, Lafluer, Esposito dayz you'd realized how good they were and the QUALITY of hockey compared to today, back then it was finess and HOCKEY; not just bodycheckin or huge scrums in front of the net and slowing down plays. The greatest era for hockey was in the 60's and 70's and my advice is you get some tapes of the ol' Montreal Canadiens and you watch some real hockey :)

The Hockey Legends even say it their selves...Maurice Richard, and even Guy Lafluer who even played in the 90's say today we have a poor brand of hockey compared to the old. Look at Mario Lemieux, he played back in the 80's and in the 2000's and nothing changed for him (besides injury - heart and back) he ripped up the NHL even in his comeback which also proves the hockey era hasnt changed and if it did it didnt change much.
