Wasn't a fan of Halak at all. IMO he was done.

Wasn't a fan of Quick when we signed him. I thought he was done too. I was wrong this time. He's been very very good and re-signing him I think is a good idea

Garand not ready? I suppose that he only really found his game during the playoffs last year. Not close to Dustin Wolf numbers and that kid is still toiling away in the AHL, well until they trade Markstrom I imagine. I like that it is only one year.

Not league minimum but still good enough to call it low in terms of cap impact. Don’t forget locker room impact - he seems well liked and respected there. Part of veteran leadership group.

It's a good deal for us. I thought re-signing Quick would cost $1.5 to $1.75. To get him at $1.25 for what he has brought to the team is a bargin.
