Probably my favorite “classic” NHL game to be found on YouTube is the one from October 17, 1970, with the New York Rangers visiting the Toronto Maple Leafs. Love this edition of the Blueshirts, and especially the Bulldog Line, with Walt Tkaczuk between Dave Balon and Bill Fairbairn. That trio provides 3 of the 6 goals scored by New York. Rod Gilbert also contributed 2 goals. Emile Francis had # 7 with Jean Ratelle and Jack Egers.

Some familiar Leafs are presented: Dave Keon, Norm Ullman, Ron Ellis, Mike Walton, Paul Henderson, Darryl Sittler ... Jacques Plante.

These two teams would meet in April, in a memorable playoff series.

I will try to watch this later, thanks. I just clicked on it randomly and saw an awesome Jacques Plante poke-check.

Plante is a God, but it looks like this was one of his roughest games of that whole amazing 1970-71 season. (NYR put 49 shots on net, though!)
