If England want people to take them seriously, they need to make quick work of this fragile and inconsistent German team.
So far Southgate has shown his ineptitude with his selection, so it's anyone's guess how this one goes.

ET incoming. Followed by a mix of "this is a tremendous match" and "this is absolutely shit" all flooding at the same time

I expect Germany to win this.
Tacs are wrong, players are playing badly, but surviving this group will give them a new found confidence.

If Southgate has any kind of footballing knowledge he'll play a back five, therefore take our wingbacks out of this game, and happily watch their wingers score a couple for an easy win.

But, it's England and we might just have some fun and take it to penalties...

It's probably better for Germany to face a team that isn't purely defending and counter attacking because that very much is the big vulnerability. The English team is not some world beater and hasn't exactly looked good in their own group either.

This side of the bracket is much nicer to be on. The winner of this game will be looking to go to the final.

England could defend and counter attack. Germany would be incapable of not exposing their back three because Germany will play midfielders who are drilled to move up high in possession.

England seems to have nice brackets all the time. WC was the same.
And they play home too. UEFA really trying to help...

They could but i doubt they will. Southgate is not really the kind of coach who adjusts to the opponent and i'm pretty sure the English want to play a ball dominant game at home.

Wouldn't be surprised if Southgate changes to 3-4-3 although he hasn't used it since the Nations League games.

Germany have looked strong tactically when I have watched them. I do believe England edges this out though and wins a close game. Both lineups are unpredictable.

3-1 loss to English they stink against the Germans. Last time they did anything was 1966. In 1968 they were 3rd overall with only 4 teams playing. English football is like the Leafs in which both teams did squat since the 60s.
