Previously Tom has said that the least friendly/worst rule from a Vegas perspective was having to draft up to 60% of the cap in expansion draft. He was really down on that.
In 2000 teams could protect 1G/5D/9F or 2G/3D/7F and they had to compete with Columbus for players. With Vegas entering alone and having essentially the same/slightly more friendly protection lists (1G/3D/7F or 8/1G) without the competition of another team does he still feel that it's a bad rule for Las Vegas?
While Minnesota was kind of fighting over scraps with Columbus, Vegas is kind of getting the pick of the best unprotected players and the expansion draft payroll would likely add up to 60% even without the rule.
This doesn't seem like a situation where you take players just to take a player/not sign them to fulfill the obligations to me. What are his thoughts on that?
_____
Where does his entry into the Wild organization compare on the Vegas timeline?
Did he come in at around the same point in the process as AGMMc? I know they had names and logos out when he was hired, how is the Vegas timeline flowing compared to Minnesota?
_____
Does he still hang out with Doug?
_____
If he was the GM and they were coming in with this year's rules/cap, would he be as conservative at they were in Minnesota?
_____
If they had a timeline to win (much like we seem to have) would they have concentrated as much as they did on building the culture of the team over years and through as much detail?
_____
Does he feel like the culture of Minnesota that was created during the early days contributes to Minnesota's current performance? Has the culture survived management and ownership changes?
_____
If Tom Lynn was hired as an AGM for Vegas tomorrow, would he steer the franchise towards a Minnesota model or are there other ways he would do things?
