I stopped counting at 200 goals. This would be an over 4goal/game pace which would be legendary and more than any team I can think of has scored per game in decades. NHL clubs win 80-90% of regular season games they score at least 4 goals in. So we'd also set a modern day record for win percentage. We wouldn't just be first place, we'd be off the charts with that type of team scoring.

If predictions are made why not make them somewhat realistic?

Maybe count again? I only count 179, which in retrospect, is still too high, but just having some fun.

I think you're correct in the count. I just counted quickly and blame the column formatting. :D sorry

Still, as you mentionway too high. Almost 4goals/game. AS mentioned by another poster I think 20goals would be the high water mark for any player here. If the club in total scored 150 this would be considerable. That would be top stratosphere team scoring just at 150. First place kind of stuff.

High hopes.

Only a lil bit.

I was trying to aim for somewhere between 240-250 goals for over a 82 game schedule. Went a bit higher than that but didnt feel like wasting too much time playing around with the unmbers.

245ish goals for
235ish goals against.

Over an 82 game shecdule.

There were 7 teams that were very close to or above 150 goals last year. Divided by NHL games played of course.

So 145
and 139

is what I was shooting for.

i dont think it is unrealistic to expect Eberle to put 50 G's in 38 games.

Everyone does know that if Eberle has a 18% shooting percentage that we will read numerous blogs about how it doesn't count because it was a short season, right?

and we can always counter that arguement with "if the season was a full 82 game he would have scored 200 goals"

I'm having a hard time predicting stats because of the shortened season, so i'm not going to.

For perspective last season in 82 games the Oilers had 207 goals for the number one team in that department (Pittsburgh) had 273 goals for.
Lets say 48 games is 60% of a regular season (its actually a bit less) and lets say with the addition of schultz and yakupov and our players growing a year we'd score 230 goals (that would be 27 more goals) in 82 games; scaling that down to 48 games would mean the Oilers would have 138 goals for.
If that makes any sense lol

Very similar to Aerchon's numbers

As far as individuals, I'd say we are all going to be pleasantly surprised.
