I was just looking at an article on PredsLines and it got me thinking. Forsberg is improving every year. Just two full seasons in and the guy has totaled 60 goals, 73 assists and 133 points through 182 games. goal totals of 26 and 33 respectively.

There is an interesting comparison with Tarasenko. In the past 2 seasons he has totaled 77 goals, 70 assists in 157 games played. goal totals of 37 and 40 respectively.

It's not a bad comparison. My question is; What do we think Forsberg can do this season? Can he hit 40 goals this season?

The article makes a point that Subban moved the puck 600 more times than Weber last season and this could be influential.

Now I know the importance of scoring depth throughout 3 lines, but Forsberg with Johansen could probably get him to that goal total. No matter the line, what are your predictions or thoughts on how many goals he could/will score this season.

Take a stab at goal totals for Forsberg, Johansen and Neal.

Forsberg - 38
Johansen - 27
Neal - 33

Forsberg - 34
Johansen - 21
Neal - 36

I expect a big year on the power play from Neal, a lot of assists from Joey, and for him to lead the team in points.

this seems realistic. I think Neal and forsberg should be flipped.

forsberg - 35 goals
Neal - 32 goals
Johansen 24 goals

No way in hell Neal leads the team in points imo.

Forsberg playing with ribeiro and smith - 30 goals

Forsberg playing with a quality centre - 40+

I still think we should be all over ship, guy is a great passer would complement ff so nicely.

I wonder if we see things swapped up a little after Wilson-Neal-Fisher was so effective in the playoffs. Maybe Wilson and Neal start on a line together with Fisher in the middle as the second line, and Forsberg plays with Johansen and Smith. If that's the case I'll say...

Forsberg - 38
Johansen - 22
Neal - 31

i've been wondering why we don't play FF9 with Johansen, but I guess it all comes down to line scoring depth. Don't want to be top 3 heavy with the second line scrambling to find goals between Wilson and Ribeiro - 13 goals combined last year - yikes.

I think this is the year we finally have a 40 goal scorer. I don't know who, but I think this is the year we have one. But I'll go out and say Neal gets to 40.

I would wager a huge amount of money against that... 40 is the new 50, and if anyone pulled it off for the Preds I'd guess Forsberg, his February was amazing, if he had that again this season combined with his natural progression, he'd have an outside chance at hitting 40.

And wouldn't Poile look like a genius for that contract as 40 goals would out Filip into the discussion with the NHL elite!

I concur With Johanson and PK feeding him the puck it is a reachable goal.

I've said it before, Neal should be used more effectively in PP. He put up a ton of pp goals in PIT.

2011-2012
18/40 on pp

2012-2013
9/21

2013-2014
11/27

Then in his Preds time
2014-2015
3/23

2015-2016
4/31

Imagine those Preds time even strength goals combined with Pens time PP goals. You guys may not be too far in your predictions of Nealers 40g. Now that Shea is gone and we have two creative star dmen on blueline, it's quite realistic

Neal: 40
RyJo: 24
FF: 35
