Welcome to the 1st edition of the Pre-WWII Draft!

The draft will last 21 rounds. Every team will pick 18 skaters, 2 goalies and 1 coach, + 3 spares.

1) Clock will start on Wednesday November 8th at noon (EST).

2) Time limits

24 hrs for round 1
12 for round 2
10 for rounds 3-10
8 for 11-14
6 for 15-21

3) You can pick any player born through 1913 (born in 1913 or prior to that year).

4) NO TRADING

5) NO MENTIONING UNDRAFTED PLAYERS

6) PM the next GM after you have made your pick. This is not optional!

He's really a notch above the other defenders in this draft.

I was wondering if Cook was going to go a little higher here than in the main ATD. He seems like a good piece to build around, and at a position of relative scarcity, IMO.

RW drop is brutal (although a little less so with the 1911 -> 1913 cutoff, but still brutal), and Cook is the best winger in the draft.

It was an obvious choice in my book.

Shore-Morenz is now a crosstown rivalry, you at the Victoria Skating Rink near the Bell Centre and me at the Westmount Arena over by the Forum lol. You might want an arena that has seats (shots fired). I guess one of us could take the Forum since that falls in the era…

Yes, when I saw I was picking at 5, I knew I was going to have a difficult choice between C and D. Couldn't turn down Cyclone's star power.

Will be interesting to see you build around Lalonde. Mysterious player that often gets overshadowed in the regular ATD, but here he brings a truly unique profile and his strengths will be allowed to shine. The Messier of this draft, reminding me of your 2011 team.

First pick inspired by the Pre-Merger Project and bringing its philosophy into draft ranking. I love it. Bowie is usually considered tricky to build around, but this is in the ATD and before the Pre-Merger project. Looking forward to see you build around him as a true #1 center.

Hopefully the first of many picks inspired by the Pre-Merger Project.

Not that I thought he'd make it to my next turn, but I'm glad I don't have to recreate Boucher-Cook. It's been done to death last few years.

Boucher is a nice starting piece as he's so easy to build around.

Those are solid picks IMO Claude. Malone was kind of obvious if you wanted a center, but Joliat wasn't yet he is very valuable as an all-around playmaking LWer. I was eyeing him for my next pick.

Joliat-Malone fit well together.
