New coaches must be trying to find out if he can do the job to increase his value to the team. Personally I think he does not have the footspeed or puckhandling skill or defensive ability to do it well. Time will tell.

This is a sign of how ready they are for game 1. All the pre-game talk was about competing with this roster, this is the 1st game of an 83-game season, etc.

Wish I could see, but giving up 2 goals on odd-man rushes isn't great. At least we're outshooting them.

I think he was being "real" with the likes of Cowen, Wiercioch, Boro playing D; but That type of behaviour does not result in greatvteam harmony. Too bad the GM did not address the issue soon enough.
