Gibson shoots the puck into a Swiss player on the PK and gives him a wide open net. That's not how you overtake Campbell.

Saad answers right back on a breakaway. Zucker with the assist.

2 goals and 3 assists for Saad tonight. I guess he really does want on the team badly this year, eh?

The one edge he has on the others is that he's really strong and mean. The question is who Blais and co. will feel the most comfortable with playing a 3rd pairing shutdown role. Can't afford to have a guy out there for defense and physical play taking penalties which has been the knock on Johns. It'll be a tough call. Only d-men I'd be surprised to be cut would be Merrill, Tinordi, Clendening, and Forbort. From there, it's just preference.

Well then, lets hope Blais' preference is Johns. I'm going to be very disappointed if I have to wait for him to turn pro to finally see him play.

Any stats available somewhere ? like shot on goals .... hits blocks etc ...?

USA Hockey will eventually put it up but here's a rundown:

First Period
USA: 1-0 Austin Czarnik (Unassisted)
USA: 2-0 Brandon Saad (Jason Zucker)
USA: 3-0 Bill Arnold (Josh Archibald)

Second Period
SUI: 3-1 Bertschy (Marti)
USA: 4-1 Emerson Etem (Brandon Saad, Austin Czarnik)
USA: 5-1 Charlie Coyle (Jake Trouba, Brandon Saad)
SUI: 5-2 Bartschi (Unassisted)
USA: 6-2 T.J. Tynan (Brandon Saad, Jon Merrill)

Third Period
SUI: 6-3 Bertschy (Unassisted)
USA: 7-3 Brandon Saad (Jason Zucker)

Shots were 31-15 USA at the end of 2. No word on hits, blocks, etc. Probably won't get anything like that.

Nothing out of the ordinary. Saad has been a monster since our prospects camp. Expect him to lead a monster line with either Bjugstad or Coyle.
