I've heard Johnson compared with Pronger, Kessel with Modano / Sakic, Staal with his brother, Toews with Thornton, nothing on Backstrom or Frolik.

    im a big toews fan
i think a thornton comparison is a little steep but on the right track.
a number one centre equally adept at dishing the puck or putting it in himself
i actually think eric staal is a good comparison for toews and i also feel that if the nucks move for someone it should be toews.

I actually haven't seen many consistent comparisons besides Johnson-Pronger.

    Backstrom-Forsberg, and Frolik-Jagr don't count.

I would say Zetterberg is a pretty good comparison to Bäckström.

I've heard that, but I haven't seen Toews enough. Malkin-Lecavalier was a really good one. Toews-Thornton makes some sense. A lot of similarities, Toews just isn't that dominant offensively yet.
