Colston was the exact comp they had for him on the NFL Network coverage (Daniel Jeremiah / Charles Davis picked them). Don't know if you noticed that, were watching a different feed, or whatever.

I can't really comment since i was only just getting into the sport as Colston's career was finishing. Never really saw him play - just thought it was worth mentioning after reading your post.
I didn’t see a lot of the draft on TV, as Imt daughter was in tryouts at college. I was following on my phone a lot.

It’s a good comp.

If that's legit that he caught 50 of 55 catchable balls that seems positive. Their definition of catchable could sway the numbers a bit depending on someone else's definition of catchable but 50/55 is comforting. Four months for him to development before we see what he can do in September and more importantly in January and February.

Keon is a character and I am 100% here for it.

Already one of my favorite players...I hope he does well.

What do you guys think the over/under is on his imaginary touchdowns before the season starts? Lol

You can find a a YouTube video of all his targets this season. I don't think Travis is very good, but the backups were absolutely awful.

Cole Bishop, S, Buffalo Bills (No. 60)

Bishop was my top-ranked safety in the class, showing great speed that allows him to play with range as a deep middle-of-the-field defender. He excels in man coverage and as a blitzer, as well. In short, Bishop is a movable DB who helps fill a significant need for Buffalo; Jordan Poyer left in free agency, and Micah Hyde is presently unsigned.

DeWayne Carter, DT, Buffalo Bills (No. 95)

The numbers will never tell the full story on Carter, as he was an absolute menace to block from a variety of alignments during his time at Duke. He can line up over the center, as a 3-technique and even kick out over the tackles. Carter plays full tilt at all times and consistently impacts the integrity of the pocket. Buffalo lacks depth on the interior of the defensive line beyond Ed Oliver and DaQuan Jones, and Carter helps.

Ray Davis, RB, Buffalo Bills (No. 128)

Davis felt like a good bet to go in the fourth round given his age (he'll turn 25 this season) and positional value, but I was a huge fan of his throughout the process. He's a chunk play waiting to happen with terrific vision and burst. What he lacks in timed speed (4.52) and size (5-8, 211 pounds), he makes up for with contact balance and toughness. He'll be a good complementary back to James Cook.

Everything I hear about this kid already makes him one of my favorite players on the team. Just seems to have his head on straight and isn't afraid to have a personality. Here's hoping for him.

IOL SEDRICK VAN PRAN, BUFFALO BILLS

A consistently dominant force for Georgia over the past three seasons, Van Pran has allowed just one sack and two quarterback hits across more than 1,400 pass-protection snaps. He peaked as a run blocker in 2023, posting a 76.9 grade in the Bulldogs’ multiple run scheme. With Mitch Morse out in Buffalo, there is a legitimate chance Van Pran pushes for a starting gig at center. At worst, he provides positional versatility across the interior.

I'm most excited about Cole Bishop and Sedrick Van Pran. Not that I don't expect Coleman to be an improvement over Davis, which would be great. But everything I've read about these guys point to immediate contributions early, and high-end potential later on in their careers; for late-round picks, that's exactly the kind of contributions you want to see.

The thing I like about this class is that there is a path for so many of these guys to contribute early on. Even some of the day 3 guys.

Coleman is easy as he seems to be the likely starter at the X WR spot replacing Davis.

Bishop is at worst S3 and a big time STs guy. But, given how early they took him, they might see him as the guy replacing Poyer and not Rapp. Although, I could see that transition happening mid-season.

Carter is going to get 30%+ of the snaps at DT if he is healthy all year.

Davis is going to be RB3 and the primary short yardage RB at worst in all likelihood. But, he will be battling for RB2 and a significant number of snaps with Ty Johnson.

Van Pran-Granger could be a backup at C and perhaps G. Or, he could look so good that they keep McGovern at LG and SVPG is the guy that replaces Morse in the starting lineup.

Ulofoshio is going to be a STs maniac and a guy that is battling to be a primary backup to TB.

Solomon is going to be a pass rush specialist from the drop.

Hardy has a shot at earning a roster spot as the PR, maybe the KR with the new rules, and as a backup slot CB behind TJ.

Grable and Clayton are the PS OL projects and the only guys without a clear path to making the 53 man roster, IMO.

I wonder if McMillan is a guy that the Bills will be interested in next year...

Big time prospect. Even more size than Keon and a former top-40 recruit.

I have my doubts a year out that the Bills will spend their top pick on a pass catcher three years in a row. The runaway "WR Train" forgets to include Kincaid when criticizing investment in Allen's weapons. Unless Coleman looks sketchy at the X, I think edge will be the clear need in 2025.

Although when going through the roster, it's hard to identify positions that don't have starters set up into the future. OT, 1DT, SS, maybe CB. So maybe Beane can keep spending on WR/TE especially considering our wealth of 2025 picks.

The biggest thing will be learning to catch balls fired from an actual cannon.

I'm curious what the Bills have with Justin Shorter. A lot of posters seemed to want the Bills to take a 2nd WR in the draft. But they took Shorter in the 5th last year and he hasn't had a chance to play yet. So in a way, they already had a day 3 WR, only he's from last draft.
Shorter is certainly a mostly forgotten commodity around here. Injured reserve in August and missed the whole season. Prototypical size and about the same speed as Keon, hopefully his injury issues are now behind him and a good camp gives him a decent shot at the lineup.

There was a post earlier in the thread I'm having a hard time finding. It showed what the Bills have for 2025 draft picks. I think it included projected compensatory picks.

I'm tracking the Bills have:
1st
2nd (Houston)
2nd
3rd
4th (Chicago)
4th
5th
6th (Giants)

Is that right? Thanks in advance!

Because I'm a draft psycho, here's my 2025 initial mock (PFN) using list through the first 125 picks, as PFN's draft board isn't updated and way off:

28: Jack Sawyer DE Ohio State (I'm templating a big move up for him based on comp picks)
43: Dontay Corleone DT Cincinnati
60: Josh Simmons OT Ohio State
92: Nazir Stackhouse DT Georgia
106: Malachi Moore S Alabama
125: Jason Marshall CB Florida
166: Montorie Foster WR Michigan State
188: Gentry Williams CB Oklahoma

Sawyer is my guy in this draft. There's no way the Bills can pass on Corleone. The marketing of him as "the godfather" for Bills mafia is way too good to let pass.

I definitely think that EDGE is very likely to be the position they target early next year. Maybe OT if they don't extend Spencer Brown.

But, if the WR room they have this year doesn't work out as hoped, I could see them spending another early pick at WR.

That extra second is Minnesota's which has a chance to be a really high pick.
