The thing about the game is that physical and defense play a huge part in overall. So you can have a low 80's player who is better offensively than a high 80s player.

I don't have Legacy or 16, but I think Hoffman was an 83 or 84 in EA's last roster update for 15. But his skating/shooting/hand skills and o awareness were on par with much better players. If you use him in Be A GM he'd easily put up first line numbers.

I use him in hut on my top line with Mov Benn and Mov Seguin. He kills it I just wish he'd get a lil bump plus he's deserving of at least a TOTW at this point with how well he's played this season.

Gibson starts at 85 haha. That's high, for someone in the AHL at the time. McDavid starts as an 82, which is well below some players, he plays great off the start, so they decide to move him up. I'd just put him at 90, he's that good.

But I agree that Hamilton should not be an 88.

Hamilton allows more scoring chances/60 than Schultz, so you tell me if he's atrocious defensively or not. Maybe Schultz is better than I thought

Tyler Johnson 87- plays like 83
Evgeny Kuznetsov 83 - plays like 87

Not trying to look like a homer, but Tyler Johnson is one of the best players in 16... I've even seen the top streamers use him. Very good player

In fairness, even though he's only 85 overall, he's got really solid offensive/skating (his wrist shot in game is ridiculous). It's just his defence/checking that aren't too hot. I can agree with 86/87, but I wouldn't necessarily say "at least"; I think that would be close to a fair assessment.

Also naturally think Gaudreau at 84 is way too low, as a Flames fan. I don't know if it counts as "ridiculously" low, but Sam Bennett should probably be 83ish rather than 80, and I can't believe how low they set his skating right off the bat.

I'm sure a bunch of others should get an upgrade but this is just off the top of my head.

Those ratings are pretty terrible IMO. Really harsh on most players. From the Leafs standpoint, Kadri has been MUCH better then 79 overall and Rielly has had a strong season as well.
