Guentzel is a better offensive player than anyone on the Jets by raw metrics over any recent sample you want to use.
Put Guentzel on the Jets and he won't be anywhere close to the point production. When you have generational C's feeding you, your stats will be inflated.

Ehlers is better for the Jets and they get another year out of him.

This would be a stupid trade for the Jets.

Ehlers has been more productive than Guentzel at 5v5 this year. 2.9 points per 60 for Ehlers vs. 2.8 for Jake. Same goes for last year (2.72 vs. 2.37).

Also, if your proposal is based on any top UFA extending with the Jets, it's automatically invalid.

Yup. Fwiw, with a minimum of 2000 minutes played 5v5, Ehlers has been the 12th most productive F in the NHL over the last 2 1/2 seasons.

Health and lack of PP time/opportunity has been the big difference. In a perfect world you add Guentzel to the Jets because he's also an elite offensive player, but I don't think the Jets would want to pay the prospect price he'd require.

Basically OP wants a younger offensive player with more term left to extend Pitts's futile attempt at a cup.

Guentzel for Ehlers and a 3rd.

Gives Jets a more “coach friendly player” for their run this year. Gives PIT a cheaper wing with elite skills for next year they can hold onto or trade.
Can you explain what role Guentzel will have that is not covered by other players that we will lack when Ehlers is gone? Around the net? Vilardi is magic? Goalscorer on the wing, we have 1 in Connor. American UFA who will walk in when his contract is up? Connor again I guess. Ehlers is magic on zone entering and force defenders to back off with his speed, doubt Guentzel is close to match that. Close to Minnesota, worst argument ever. And we should add aswell? Dude...
