Read some of his previous posts in the topic. He was going on about how going after Torres should be our top priority and that a single loss after a hot start won't amount to much.

That is clearly the wrong priorities.

Maybe you should read them. I said someone needs to pound him. Take the instigator. I'm not saying run around for the whole game trying to get him, it doesn't take a whole game to do it. I'm saying, JUST DO IT, **** the consequences. If a PP leads to a goal which is the difference, it's not that big of a deal. We are bound to lose eventually anyway.

One happened well over a half year ago. The other happened about three seconds prior to Keith jumping in.

There's a difference between idiotic goonery for the sake of goonery and standing up for a teammate in the here and now.

Sorry, but if your focus is on just going after some jackass on the ice instead of trying to win, you've got the absolute wrong priorities. And it makes you sound like a Nucks fan.

If the opportunity presents itself, by all means I hope someone lays him out nice and hard and clean. If not, then I'd rather the Hawks just force the doofus to learn French a tad bit early if he stays with the team after they get eliminated and move on up to Quebec City rather than just go out of their way in a misguided attempt to show that they're tough.

It doesn't matter when it happened. IT HAPPENED!!!! TWICE!!!!! SAME GUY!!!!!!

There is zero difference between Keith stepping up and someone stepping up now. ZERO!!

Also, no one said JUST focus on getting Torres. You can still win and pound someone down at the same time.

Keith stepping in for Mayers was a bit of a different situation, though. Keith made the bad pass that put Mayers in a vulnerable position right before the hit. His motivation for the fight was probably as much about making up for the pass as it was for the hit. It was also seconds after the hit.

I wouldn't be upset seeing Torres suffer a career ending injury at some point considering his history and obviously the Hossa hit in particular, but I really doubt he initiates anything serious against the Hawks in the near future (or possibly ever). He's going to be watched so closely in games against us that anything serious will get him an even heftier suspension than the last one and guarantee he'll be in serious physical danger every time he steps on the ice against the Hawks.

Are you saying Keith did the right thing in blowing up Sedin?

Who's saying stoop to Torres level? Going out, instigating a fight and beating his face to a pulp isn't stooping to any level. It also doesn't recieve a game misconduct or any form of suspension.

And even if it did, it's not like the Hawks will tailspin by missing Bollig for a game.

This is supposedly the entire point of having a thug or a goon, to "prevent" cheapshots from happening. Or so people like to claim. Well, one happened. If you don't do something about it, then the entire point of having a thug like Bollig in the lineup is invalidated.

As long as he doesn't do something Bertuzzi or McSorley level stupid, Bollig must make Torres answer for his own choices tonight, or he simply shouldn't be in the lineup.

Agreed. Looking for the opps tough guy and fighting for no apparent reason is just stupid.... and that is what Bollig does. Meanwhile we have some pretty dam good prospects in the minors that could be showing Hawks they belong.

Again, yes.... there is. It's called time.

Stepping up now only sends the message that, hey.... knock out one of our guys, and you're going to get it.... six or nine months from now.

The message needed to be sent on game day. That opportunity was lost. Doing anything now, particularly if it involves going out of your way in any way, is a bad idea.

And, as I said, your multiple posts on the subject clearly show a fixation on the subject that paints you in a very bad light, like it or not. We were all mocking Nucks fans for the same thing a few days ago, and here you are making posts about sending messages and how you'd even take a loss if we lit him up. Remember, you said "**** wins" and that a loss now wouldn't matter in the long run.

If Bollig and Torres have some fisticuffs, cool. If a player lays a beautiful hit on him in a legal fashion, cool. If nothing happens except a win, even more cool.
