Coyotes deserved to win that game, they were the better team overall. Nice to see some urgency finally from the pens in the last 15 min. I guess they realized the season started.

Malkin looks god awful too.

Malkin was miles ahead of Sid tonight. He wasn't phenomenal, but he looked like he gave a **** and had some nice scoring chances.

Well the Coaches Challenge will help with some of the terrible reffing, but I think you need to make penalty calls and non-calls challenge-able too if the refs are going to be this bad. I'm not blaming them for this loss, but they definitely did all they could do prevent a tying goal near the end there.

At what point do these stop being "meaningless games" in September?

Probably in late-March or early April when we're scratching and clawing for every point we can to sneak into the last spot of the playoffs again.
